As a stand up comedian and Emmy Nominated/WGA Award Winning writer previously of New York, now based in Los Angeles, Jesse Joyce has earned a reputation as highly sought after writer/comedian with performances loved by crowds around the world, and a writing style admired and respected by comedians at every level.

In television, Joyce is a staff writer and performer on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC.  He was one of the favorite and most frequent guest on all four seasons of the hit Comedy Central show @Midnight.  Jesse has also made appearances on many other Comedy Central shows like Comedy Underground with Dave Attell, the inaugural season of Live at Gotham, and Comedy Central’s Colossal Clusterfest.  He’s been seen on ABC’s Last Call with Carson Daly on NBC.  He was a recurring panelist on History Channel’s I Love The 1880′s, hosted Date Night for AMC, Entertainment Tonight, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’s “Pass The Mic,” VH1′s Morning Buzz, Talk of The Fest from The Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, The Guest List on Seeso, Stand-Up 360 with Caroline Rhea and Gotham Comedy Live on the AXS network. In 2010 he was named a top 20 Semi-Finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

Jesse made his feature film debut in Stags in 2011, produced by Ben Barenholz of Raising Arizona, Barton Fink and Requiem for a Dream and starring Joyce, the dark comedy is about four New York City permanent bachelors, and is currently available on Amazon and Netflix.

An award winning writer as well, Jesse has written for numerous hit network TV and Comedy Central shows and specials and currently works for Jimmy Kimmel Live for which he received a 2018 Writers Guild Award nomination.   Prior to joining Kimmel, Jesse was a long time staff writer for @midnight on Comedy Central.  Additionally Jesse helped Dave Attell write his late night comedy series Comedy Underground with Dave Attell, and is one of the longest standing writers for the Comedy Central Roast franchise. In 2016 he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy and won a Writers’ Guild Award for his work on Triumph’s Election Specials starring Triumph The Insult Comic Dog available on Hulu.  Additionally, Jesse has been a long time joke writer for Seth McFarlane, most notably, for the 85th Annual Academy Awards on ABC.  In 2018 he wrote for the Academy Awards a second time (receiving his 3rd WGA Award nomination) and the 71st Annual Tony Awards on CBS.  He’s been on the writing team for The MTV VMAs, The 72nd Emmy Awards, The 2014 BET Awards hosted by Chris Rock, The Fix on Netflix, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, The 2013 & 2015 Guys Choice Awards on Spike TV and was a writer and consulting producer on The Jim Norton Show for Vice.com.  Recently, Jesse’s even been contributing his writing talents across the pond on several popular British shows, Roast Battle UK for Comedy Central UK and hit panel shows such as The Big Fat Quiz of Everything, 8 Out of 10 Cats and the exceedingly clunkily named 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown on BBC4.  But Jesse is probably best known as a veteran of the last 13 consecutive Comedy Central Roasts. Starting in 2007, Jesse was the behind-the-scenes half of the long time Comedy Central Roast writing partnership with the late, great Greg Giraldo including the Comedy Central Roast(s) of David Hasselhoff, Joan Rivers, Larry the Cable Guy, Bob Saget and Flavor Flav. His roast writing talents were also utilized for the TBS Celebrity Roast of Cheech and Chong and success writing for the Comedy Central programs led to his being requested to write Comedy Central’s Burned! The Roasts’ Most Outrageous Moments and for The Comedy Central Roast(s) of Trump, Charlie Sheen, Roseanne, James Franco, Justin Bieber, Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin.

Joyce’s writing has been utilized by Joan Rivers on TV Land’s How’d You Get So Rich? and in 2012-2013 he was a staff writer for both seasons of the popular The Burn with Jeff Ross on Comedy Central. His work in TV, Radio and Print advertising has won him several American Advertising Awards as far back as 2001. Jesse can be heard on the XM and Sirius Satellite Radio where his acclaimed CD Joyce To The World is part of regular rotation. His reoccurring appearances on The Opie and Anthony Show now Opie Radio and the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Morning Show, have become listener favorites and led to a featured performance on Bob and Tom’s CD As Big As A Hat.

Jesse has entertained audiences across America as well as in 17 countries on 4 continents with his live show at clubs, colleges, and festivals. An established performer with the USO, he has performed overseas on numerous occasions. In addition to his busy club and college schedule, Joyce has appeared at the 2013 Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, the TBS Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, The Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival in Austin TX, San Francisco Sketch Fest, Comedy Central’s Colossal Clusterfest 2017, Gilda’s Laugh Fest in Grand Rapids, The Great American Comedy Festival a festival sprung of Johnny Carson’s legacy and has made numerous appearances at The Boston Comedy Festival. When not headlining clubs around the country he can be seen regularly on Comedy Central.

Jesse currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife Emily, their dog Petey, son Emmett, and daughter Wren, not in that order.
